Global Nursing Forum Educates and Inspires Filipino Nurses Worldwide

Manila, PHI (May 21, 2022) - Nearly 300 Filipino nurses in their homeland and abroad logged on to a Global Nursing Forum hosted by Health Carousel Philippines through its Light the Way initiative. The online workshop featured a panel of seven distinguished Filipino RNs working in the UK, the USA, the Middle East, and their home country. They shared bedside nursing stories, best professional practices, and career advice, which inspired and built professional and personal resiliency among the attendees.

In total, Health Carousel Philippines' Global Nursing Forum provided 900 hours of free nurse training. This commitment to improving the nursing profession comes at a critical time, as almost 40% of RNs in private hospitals have resigned since the pandemic began, according to the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAPi).

The seven Global Nursing Forum panelists represented various nursing specialties and roles:

  • Abigail Rodriguez, PHRN, USRN - stroke nurse and NCLEX review instructor
  • Paul Lawrence C. Dizon, BSN, RN - operating room, delivery nurse, and training and development officer
  • Allan Rabcer E. Realeza, BSN, RN - nephrology and acute medicine nurse
  • Juliet Pacaldo, BSN, RN, MSN - clinical instructor and lecturer for medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, and OBGYN
  • Gemma F. Juanay, BSN, RN - geriatric nurse
  • Mark Bryan B. Garcia, BSN, RN - interventional neurology nurse
  • Roque Garvida, Jr. DNP, RN-BC - informatics practice and nursing administration
"We were very excited to hold our first-ever Global Nursing Forum featuring a diaspora of Filipino nurses," stated Marivic Doctor, president of Health Carousel Philippines. "Our guest speakers shared life experiences and best practices in nursing to help attendees realize how important they are and to give them the courage and strength to carry on."

Building resiliency in the Philippines nursing workforce through programs such as this Global Nursing Forum safeguards against emotional exhaustion, burnout, and exits from the profession. Health Carousel Philippines clearly understands the importance of committing resources toward the well-being of the nation's nurses.
